Multi-Lead EEG / ECG / EMG Monitoring Electrode Cable

This reusable multi-lead electrode cable provides a configurable connection platform for compatible EEG, ECG, EMG and other biosignal monitoring equipment. Unlike a conventional lead wire using only one type of electrode connector, the standard configuration combines a Dupont device-side interface with 4.0mm female snap and ear-clip electrode connections within one compact cable assembly.

The multi-interface structure makes the cable suitable for equipment-development projects where different electrode types need to be connected to the same acquisition hardware. Lead quantity, device-side connector, pin assignment, cable length, shielding, electrode interface and channel identification can all be developed according to the target device.

Multiple Electrode Interfaces in One Biosignal Cable Assembly

Different biosignal acquisition systems may require different electrode connection methods. This cable architecture allows multiple electrode interfaces to be integrated within one assembly instead of requiring every signal channel to use an identical connector.

The 4.0mm female snap interface can be used with compatible snap-style electrodes, while the ear-clip connection provides another reusable electrode format. The actual function of each lead depends on the channel definition, reference configuration and electrical architecture of the target equipment.

For projects that require reusable cup electrodes rather than snap or ear-clip connections, our Type-C to 10.0mm Gold-Plated EEG / ECG Cup Electrode Cable provides another electrode architecture for compatible EEG, ECG, EMG and biosignal acquisition systems.

Configurable Lead Architecture for EEG, ECG and EMG Equipment

The number and arrangement of electrode leads should follow the actual acquisition hardware rather than a fixed generic cable layout. Lead count, branch length, electrode type, channel sequence and cable breakout position can therefore be adapted according to the finished-device design.

For EEG-related projects, the cable may need to work together with reference electrodes, scalp electrodes or other acquisition accessories. Systems requiring organized multi-channel scalp positioning can also be evaluated together with a 32-Channel EEG Cap with 10–20 Electrode Positioning according to the required acquisition architecture.

For ECG or EMG equipment, the same development principle applies: connector type, signal channel, electrode interface and cable routing should be configured around the target monitor or acquisition module rather than assumed from the cable appearance alone.

Shielded Cable Structure for Biosignal Connectivity

The standard configuration uses a multi-lead shielded cable structure. Shielding can form part of the overall signal-path design where the connected equipment requires additional control of external electrical interference.

Final signal quality depends on the complete acquisition system, including conductor arrangement, cable length, shield termination, grounding, electrode contact, amplifier input and the surrounding electrical environment. The cable should therefore be evaluated together with the intended hardware rather than treating shielding as an independent performance guarantee.

Additional electrode and cable configurations for electrophysiological projects can be reviewed through our EEG & EMG Electrodes & Cables range.

Device-Side Connector and Pinout Must Match the Acquisition Hardware

The standard version uses a Dupont-style device connector, but the physical connector alone does not define electrical compatibility. Pin assignment, signal channel, reference connection, polarity where applicable and lead sequence should all match the approved interface definition of the target equipment.

Customers can provide a PCB pin definition, channel table, connector drawing, equipment specification or existing cable sample for engineering review. Heymed Medical can then develop the cable according to the actual relationship between the acquisition device and each electrode lead.

Where the monitoring system uses a different equipment-side connector, the assembly can be developed as part of a Custom Medical Cable Assembly rather than being restricted to the Dupont interface shown in the standard configuration.

Key Customization Options

Device-side connector: Dupont-style connector or project-specific interface according to the acquisition equipment.

Lead quantity: Number of electrode channels and individual lead arrangement can be developed according to the device architecture.

Electrode interfaces: 4.0mm female snaps, ear clips or other compatible electrode connection structures can be combined according to project requirements.

Pin assignment: Individual channel mapping, reference connections and electrical definitions can follow the approved PCB or equipment specification.

Cable construction: Standard 300mm configuration or customized length, shielding, branch dimensions, conductor structure and strain relief.

Identification: Lead colors, channel labels, markings and cable identification can be configured for the target monitoring system.

Designed Around the Complete Biosignal Acquisition System

Multi-lead monitoring cables often form the connection layer between several different components: electrodes, patient-side accessories, acquisition electronics and the equipment-side connector. These elements should be reviewed as one complete signal path during development.

Heymed Medical can work from customer drawings, existing cables, connector specifications, electrode requirements or channel definitions to review the complete cable architecture before prototype production.

For ECG-specific projects requiring other connector and snap configurations, additional alternatives can also be reviewed through our ECG Cables & Lead Wires range.

From Interface Review to OEM / ODM Production

Custom multi-lead electrode cable development can begin from a target monitoring device, PCB interface, pinout definition, existing cable sample or electrode configuration. Our engineering team can review the electrical and mechanical requirements before preparing an engineering sample.

During prototype evaluation, connector fit, pin-to-lead continuity, channel mapping, electrode-interface engagement, shielding structure, cable dimensions and strain relief can be checked against the approved project specification.

Once the configuration is confirmed, conductor materials, shielding, cable assembly, connector termination, lead identification, inspection and packaging can be transferred into repeatable OEM/ODM production.
