10-Pin Magnetic Connector to 10-Lead 4.0mm ECG Electrode Snap Cable

This custom multi-lead ECG cable combines a compact 10-pin magnetic spring-contact connector with ten individual 4.0mm female electrode snaps. It provides a centralized device-side connection while distributing the signal path into ten separate electrode leads for compatible ECG, patient-monitoring and biosignal acquisition equipment.

The magnetic connector helps guide the cable toward the matching equipment interface, while the individual snap leads provide detachable connections to compatible electrode studs. Lead colors, labels, branch lengths and channel identification can be configured according to the electrical and mechanical architecture of the target device.

One Device Interface, Ten Independent Electrode Leads

Multi-channel monitoring equipment often requires several electrode connections to be routed back to a single device interface. This cable architecture brings ten individual electrode leads into one compact connector, helping reduce the number of separate equipment-side connections and organize cable routing around the monitoring system.

Each branch terminates in a 4.0mm female snap connector for mating with a compatible male electrode stud. The individual leads can be identified through molded colors, labels or channel markings according to the customer's approved channel table.

The number of leads alone does not define a standardized ECG configuration. Final electrode function, channel assignment, reference arrangement and signal mapping depend on the electrical design of the target device and should be confirmed before sampling.

Magnetic Spring-Contact Interface for Repeated Device Connection

The equipment-side connector combines magnetic alignment with spring-loaded electrical contacts. This structure can provide a compact detachable interface for equipment that requires repeated cable connection and removal without using a larger conventional plug.

Magnetic attraction assists the mating process, while the spring contacts accommodate a controlled amount of contact travel. Mechanical locating features, magnet orientation and connector geometry should still be evaluated together so that the cable aligns correctly with the finished device.

Connectors with a similar external appearance are not automatically interchangeable. Contact spacing, magnetic polarity, mechanical dimensions and electrical pin assignment must all match the target equipment interface.

Key Engineering Details to Confirm Before Development

Connector layout: contact quantity, contact pitch, housing dimensions and mating orientation should match the target equipment.

Magnetic configuration: magnet position, magnetic orientation and mechanical alignment should be reviewed together with the device-side connector.

Pinout and channel mapping: every device-side contact must be mapped to the correct electrode lead according to the approved wiring definition.

Electrode interface: 4.0mm female snap geometry should be confirmed against the intended male electrode stud.

Lead-wire layout: total cable length, branch length, breakout position, color identification and labels can be developed around the finished equipment.

Cable construction: conductor configuration, jacket material, shielding, strain relief and overmolding can be adjusted according to the approved project requirements.

Channel Mapping Must Match the Actual Monitoring System

For multi-lead medical cable assemblies, correct mechanical mating is only the first step. Each connector contact must also correspond to the intended electrode lead and signal channel in the target equipment.

Heymed Medical can review PCB pin definitions, channel tables, wiring diagrams, connector drawings or an existing reference cable before sample production. The relationship between the 10-pin device connector and the ten individual snap leads can then be established according to the customer's approved electrical definition.

This is particularly important for replacement-cable development and new monitoring hardware because two connectors with similar dimensions may use completely different channel assignments.

Designed as a Complete Multi-Lead Cable Assembly

A ten-lead cable requires more than simply adding additional wires. Cable breakout geometry, lead organization, strain relief, identification and routing all influence how the finished assembly performs during equipment integration and routine handling.

Lead lengths can be arranged individually according to the required electrode positions, while colors and labels can be used to simplify identification during assembly and connection. The main cable and branch structure can also be adapted to reduce unnecessary cable crossover around the finished equipment.

For alternative channel counts and connector structures, our ECG Cables & Lead Wires range provides additional cable architectures for compatible monitoring and biosignal equipment.

From Interface Review to OEM/ODM Production

Heymed Medical supports custom multi-lead ECG and biosignal cable projects from initial interface review through prototype development and volume manufacturing. Customers can provide device drawings, connector dimensions, pinout tables, channel definitions, electrode specifications or an existing cable sample for engineering evaluation.

During prototype development, connector mating, magnetic orientation, electrical continuity, channel mapping, snap engagement and cable dimensions can be checked against the approved project specification.

Once the electrical and mechanical structure is confirmed, cable molding, assembly, identification, inspection and packaging can be transferred into repeatable production according to the agreed product configuration.
