Solutions & Applications
The Nurse Call Push Button Cable provides a user-operated connection for compatible hospital beds, nurse call systems and healthcare communication equipment. The self-reset button is combined with a compact 5-pin spring-loaded device interface.
For OEM/ODM projects, contact layout, pin assignment, button structure, cable length, jacket material, connector housing and labeling can be developed according to the target equipment.
Heymed Medical supports device interface review, button and connector integration, prototype development, functional testing and volume manufacturing for custom nurse call cable projects.
Medical-grade auricular stimulation cable specifications for healthcare and neuromodulation therapy applications.
This custom nurse call cable combines a normally open momentary push button with a compact 5-pin spring-loaded connector for compatible bedside call units, nurse stations, healthcare communication equipment and care-facility systems.
Pin assignment, switch logic, connector dimensions, cable length, jacket material, button housing and actuation force can all be developed according to the actual equipment interface and OEM/ODM project requirements.
The standard configuration uses a normally open momentary self-reset switch. When the button is not pressed, the defined switch circuit remains open. Pressing the button temporarily changes the circuit state according to the approved wiring configuration, and releasing the button allows it to return automatically to its resting position.
This operating principle is suitable for systems that require a temporary user-generated control input rather than a mechanically latched switch. The actual switch function and signal definition should be confirmed according to the target nurse call or bedside communication system.

The equipment-side connector uses five spring-loaded electrical contacts. The spring-contact structure provides controlled contact travel when the cable is engaged with the corresponding device interface.
Contact pitch, travel, spring force, contact length, housing dimensions and mating direction can all influence connector performance. Similar-looking connectors should therefore not automatically be considered mechanically or electrically interchangeable.
For projects requiring different spring-contact layouts, additional interface structures can be developed through our Pogo Pin, Magnetic & FPC Components solutions.

A five-contact connector does not automatically define the electrical function of the cable. Depending on the equipment architecture, different contacts may be assigned to the momentary switch circuit or reserved for other system functions.
Heymed Medical can review device pinout diagrams, PCB definitions, wiring drawings, mating connector dimensions or existing cable samples before prototype development.
Where the push-button cable forms part of a larger internal connection system, it can also be developed together with Medical Device Wire Harnesses for connection to internal terminals, PCB connectors and additional equipment modules.
Switch function: Normally open momentary operation or project-specific switching logic.
Pinout: Electrical mapping between the push button and the five connector contacts.
Connector structure: Contact pitch, travel, spring force, contact length and mating geometry.
Button design: Actuation force, button travel, housing size and tactile response.
Cable construction: PVC, TPE or TPU jacket, conductor structure, cable length and strain relief.
OEM/ODM options: Housing color, cable color, logo, labels and packaging.
Custom nurse call cable development can begin from an equipment model, connector drawing, wiring definition or existing reference sample. Our engineering team can review both the mechanical interface and electrical switch logic before preparing a prototype.
During sample development, connector mating, spring-contact engagement, switch operation, pin-to-pin continuity, actuation force, cable dimensions and strain relief can be checked against the approved project requirements.
If a different device connector, button housing or cable architecture is required, the assembly can be developed through our Custom Medical Cable Assemblies engineering and manufacturing capability.
We provide OEM and ODM medical cable assembly services for neuromodulation therapy device manufacturers and healthcare brands worldwide.
Resolve your concerns in advance — stress-free communication, efficient coordination
A nurse call push button cable is a user-operated cable assembly that connects a bedside call button to a compatible hospital or healthcare nurse-call system.
The referenced configuration uses a 5-pin spring-loaded contact connector. The contact layout and pin assignment should be matched to the target nurse-call equipment.
It can be developed for compatible hospital beds, nurse stations, clinics, elderly-care facilities and other healthcare communication systems.
