Solutions & Applications
The 4.0mm 3-Prong Female ECG Snap Connector provides a compact reusable interface for compatible ECG electrodes, patient-monitoring lead wires and electrode cable assemblies. Its three-prong structure is designed to engage compatible 4.0mm snap interfaces while maintaining a compact connector profile.
For OEM/ODM projects, the connector can be integrated into ECG Lead Wires, Medical Electrode Cables or broader Custom Medical Cable Assemblies. Cable structure, overmold design, strain relief, wire specification, connector orientation and product identification can be developed according to the finished-device requirements.
Heymed Medical supports connector integration, cable structure design, prototype development, dimensional inspection, mating verification, continuity testing and volume manufacturing for custom medical electrode connection projects.

This 4.0mm female ECG snap button uses a compact three-jaw spring contact structure for connection with compatible male electrode studs. The internal spring jaws grip the mating stud from multiple contact points, helping provide a repeatable mechanical connection for ECG lead wires, reusable electrode accessories, TENS/EMS electrode cables and other compatible medical-device interfaces.
The component can be supplied as an individual snap connector or integrated into a complete cable assembly. For OEM projects, the snap size, terminal structure, wire connection, overmolding and finished cable configuration can be developed according to the customer's electrode, lead-wire or device design.

The main difference between this component and a simple single-contact snap is the three-jaw spring structure inside the female connector. When a compatible male electrode stud is inserted, the spring jaws apply contact pressure around the mating surface and mechanically retain the stud inside the snap.
This structure allows repeated connection and removal while keeping the snap compact enough for integration into electrode leads and reusable accessories. The final mating performance depends on the dimensions of both the female snap and the male electrode stud, so the complete mating pair should be confirmed before production.
The nickel-plated surface provides a practical metallic finish for connector assembly and repeated mating applications. For projects with specific electrical, environmental or lifecycle requirements, the snap structure and complete cable assembly should be evaluated according to the finished-device specification.
The standard version shown here uses a 4.0mm female snap interface, while a 3.5mm option is also available for projects using a different electrode-stud size. Selecting the correct snap should be based on the actual male stud dimensions and mating structure rather than the nominal size alone.
Small dimensional differences in stud diameter, head geometry, insertion depth or spring structure can affect mating force and retention. For OEM or replacement projects, customers can provide a mating electrode, dimensional drawing or reference sample so that compatibility can be reviewed before tooling or cable assembly.
Heymed Medical can support both connector-component supply and integration into complete ECG cables and lead wires according to the target equipment and electrode connection requirements.
Snap size: 4.0mm standard version or 3.5mm option according to the mating electrode stud.
Mating structure: stud diameter, insertion depth and retention requirements should be checked as a complete connector pair.
Terminal connection: mechanical termination method should be selected according to the intended lead-wire or electrode assembly.
Cable integration: wire specification, branch design, strain relief and overmolding can be developed together with the snap connector.
Finished assembly: connector fit and electrical continuity can be verified according to the approved cable drawing before volume production.

For medical-device manufacturers, the snap connector is often only one part of the complete electrode connection. Wire construction, electrode lead length, device-side connector, branch configuration, strain relief and overmolding all influence the final cable design.
Heymed Medical can integrate the 3-jaw female snap into customized ECG lead wires, biosignal cables, TENS/EMS electrode cables and reusable electrode assemblies. Development can begin from an existing cable sample, connector drawing, electrode specification or complete device-interface requirement.
Our engineering support can cover snap selection, mating verification, wire and connector matching, cable structure design, prototype preparation and production testing, allowing customers to develop a complete connection assembly rather than sourcing individual components separately.
The same 4.0mm female electrode snap can be incorporated into different lead-wire architectures depending on the equipment-side interface. For example, a patient-monitoring device may use a locking circular connector, while compact or portable equipment may use a Pogo Pin interface.
This allows the electrode-side connection to remain consistent while the device-side connector, channel count, cable length and pin definition are customized around the target medical equipment.
The 4.0mm female snap connector can be integrated into different medical lead-wire assemblies according to the required device-side connector and channel configuration.

A 4.0mm 3-prong female ECG snap connector is a reusable connector component designed to mate with compatible 4.0mm snap interfaces used in ECG electrode lead wires and patient-monitoring accessories.
The terms 3-prong and 3-jaw are commonly used to describe the same three-contact female snap structure. The connector uses three internal contact points to engage a compatible snap interface.
The confirmed configuration uses brass with a nickel-plated surface finish.
It can be integrated into compatible ECG electrode lead wires, patient-monitoring accessories, electrode cables and other medical cable assemblies using a 4.0mm snap interface.
The confirmed connector specification includes testing for at least 1,000 insertion and withdrawal cycles, with mating performance evaluated after durability testing.
