Reusable Stainless Steel ESU Patient Return Electrode Plate with Unterminated Cable
This reusable patient return electrode combines a stainless steel conductive surface, TPU insulated perimeter and integrated flexible lead wire for compatible monopolar electrosurgical equipment. The rigid plate structure provides a reusable equipment accessory where the electrode, cable and device-side interface need to be developed as one complete assembly.
The standard configuration is supplied with an unterminated device-side cable, allowing the final connector and cable termination to be matched to the intended ESU system. Plate dimensions, cable length, connector configuration, strain relief, labeling and packaging can all be developed according to OEM/ODM project requirements.
Stainless Steel Contact Surface with TPU Insulated Perimeter
The electrode plate uses a stainless steel conductive surface surrounded by a TPU insulated frame. This construction separates the conductive plate area from the outer perimeter while providing a durable mechanical structure for reusable system integration.
Plate geometry, conductive area and overall dimensions should be defined according to the intended electrosurgical equipment and completed product specification. The electrode should not be selected only by visual similarity or plate size.
Where a more flexible reusable electrode structure is required, a reusable silicone ESU neutral/dispersive electrode provides an alternative material and mechanical architecture for compatible equipment.

Designed as Part of the Complete ESU Return-Path Assembly
A patient return electrode should be evaluated as part of the complete electrosurgical system rather than as an isolated conductive plate. The electrode surface, cable construction, device-side termination, generator interface and equipment operating requirements all influence the final configuration.
Compatibility with return-electrode monitoring or other generator-specific functions must be confirmed against the intended ESU system. Mechanical connection alone is not sufficient to establish electrical or functional compatibility.
For projects requiring a single-use solution instead of a reusable metal plate, the disposable adult monopolar ESU patient return electrode pad provides a different electrode architecture with an attached cable for compatible systems.
Unterminated Cable for Project-Specific Device Integration
The standard version uses an unterminated device-side cable, giving equipment manufacturers flexibility to define the final connection according to the target generator or internal wiring architecture.
Depending on the project, the cable can be terminated with a compatible push-pull connector, pin plug, 6.3mm plug or another customer-specified interface. Connector series, contact arrangement, pin assignment and mechanical mating structure should be confirmed from the actual equipment specification.
Where a project requires a different cable termination or a more complex connection structure, the electrode cable can also be developed through our Custom Medical Cable Assemblies engineering and manufacturing capability.
Key Customization Options
Electrode plate: Plate dimensions, overall geometry and conductive surface configuration according to the target equipment.
Cable length: Lead-wire dimensions can be developed according to equipment layout and connection distance.
Device-side termination: Unterminated cable, push-pull connector, pin plug, 6.3mm plug or project-specific interface.
Strain relief: Cable exit and transition structure can be developed around repeated handling and finished-product assembly.
Identification: Product labels, cable marking and project-specific identification can be customized.
OEM/ODM packaging: Packaging configuration and supporting product documentation can be developed according to project requirements.
Cleaning, Reuse and Product Validation
Because this electrode is intended for reusable applications, cleaning, inspection and reuse requirements should be established for the completed product. Cleaning agents, repeated-use conditions and inspection criteria should follow a validated product process rather than being assumed from the stainless steel surface alone.
Before commercial use, the completed electrode assembly should be evaluated together with the intended electrosurgical equipment, operating conditions, electrical requirements and applicable regulatory requirements.

From Engineering Sample to OEM/ODM Production
Custom ESU return-electrode development can begin from a generator model, electrode drawing, device interface specification, cable requirement or existing reference sample. Heymed Medical can review the mechanical and electrical requirements before preparing an engineering prototype.
During sample development, plate dimensions, cable attachment, connector fit, electrical continuity, strain relief and overall assembly can be checked against the approved project requirements.
Once the configuration is confirmed, material specification, cable assembly, inspection, labeling and packaging can be transferred into repeatable production under the agreed product specification.
